Our group continued up the North Shore, making a quick stop at the new Visitor Center at Tettegouche State Park. I failed to take a picture of the gorgeous new building so you’ll have to check it out through the link.
Besides building a Visitor’s Center that meshes well with it’s setting, the DNR situated it to also serve as a Hwy 61 Rest Area. Meaning you can stop and tour the Visitor Center without paying a day fee.
You also have free access to the shoreline trails so we hiked to the Shovel Point overlook, one of the nicest viewpoints along the North Shore.
We took full advantage of some stellar weather. A week out the forecast was for clouds, rain and high temps in the low 50’s.
These young rock climbers were preparing to go over the edge. My niece Kate sampled rock climbing for the first time in the exact same spot her senior year of high school.
The dogs just want to know what we are waiting for! Onward!
